Microsoft Introduces Surface Laptop with Windows 10 S
Microsoft today
introduced a new laptop in the Surface family of computers that aims at
education markets. The Surface Laptop is a light and thin laptop that has a
13.5" display and runs on Windows 10 S. Here's more info:
The Surface Laptop is powered by 7th gen
Intel Core CPU with Intel HD or HD Iris graphics. It offers 4GB, 8GB or 16GB
RAM options and SSD options up to 512GB. It has a USB 3.0 port, headset jack,
mini DisplayPort and SurfaceConnect connectors.
The Surface Laptop weighs 2.76 lbs and
measures 14.47mm at its thickest point. The 13.5" PixelSense LCD is made
with edge-to-edge Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and supports touch. The anodized
metal on the outside feels smooth and cool while the inside Alcantara material
feels soft and warm. Microsoft claims the battery life of the Surface Laptop is
up to 14.5 hours. The laptop comes in four color options:
- Platinum is the Surface core, our heritage
color. Anodization gives it new depths and life. It continues to make a
timeless and bright statement.
- Graphite Gold is the ultimate neutral. The
shimmer in the metal and material bring a comforting glow.
- Cobalt Blue has the depth you see in the
sea or sky. It's a color inspired by nature and feels bright yet natural.
- Burgundy's elegance stands out. The color
shifts from soft rose to deep red as you move from day to night or from inside
to out.
Surface Laptop is made for and powered by
Windows 10 S. And for a limited time, Surface Laptop comes with an offer for
one-year subscription to Office 365 Personal and 1TB of free storage on
OneDrive, giving you full access to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and
OneNote.
Surface Laptop starts at $999 (the Core
i7/16GB RAM/512GB SSD option is $2,199) and will be available beginning on June
15th.
