ZTE is announcing a big phone on October 27, probably the Axon 7 Max
ZTE has just taken the wraps off the nubia
Z11 mini S a few days ago, but the Chinese company apparently isn't done with
new phone launches for this month. It's already scheduled a new event in China
on October 27.
While it hasn't said exactly what the event
is for, the teaser (which you can see in the image to the left) says something
along the lines of "Witness the big phone event". That makes us think
this will be when ZTE outs a new phablet.
And that in turn makes us think the recently
leaked Axon 7 Max is the device that will become official on October 27. The
Axon 7 Max is going to be the successor to the original Axon Max from last
year. It will complement both the Axon 7 and the Axon 7 mini in ZTE's current Axon-branded
portfolio.
The Axon 7 Max is expected to feature a
6-inch 1080p touchscreen, the Snapdragon 625 SoC at the helm, 4GB of RAM, 64GB
of storage, and a dual rear camera setup with laser autofocus and dual-LED
flash (though the resolution of the sensors is still unknown). It will run
Android 7.0 Nougat with ZTE's MiFavor UI 4.0 on top. A fingerprint scanner will
be on the Axon 7 Max's back.
Those are all the details we have about it at
the moment. Obviously it's possible that this event is for something else
entirely. We'll find out for sure in exactly one week.
