Mafia III: Rivals pre-registration goes live, arrives this October on Android
There is a certain appeal to the gangster
lifestyle, and you can live out those “bad boy” fantasies virtually via games
without being hurt. Mafia
III: Rivals is an upcoming gangster game for Android, but instead of the
action-adventure third person shooter you may know from the console iterations,
this is a “battle RPG title” set in the universe of Mafia III.
2K Games will publish this spin-off game, where you play the role of the boss. Heading your own crime family, the objective is simple: Be the biggest and most bad-ass crime lord in New Bordeaux! Stealing, cold-blooded murders, and running various rackets are all part of your everyday ‘work.’
Make sure that your characters/members are
well equipped with the right tools such as various gear, weapons (guns, knives,
brass knuckles, etc.) and items (body armor, the works!). Good thing there are
vehicles to help your gang cover more territory along the way.
Gameplay will involve recruiting up to 40
different crime bosses hailing from the Mafia III universe, and all of them can
level up with experience. Whenever you run into opposition on the streets, the
game will enter into a battle RPG style of combat, where the winner takes the
spoils. Fights will be against AI opponents or against other players, and the
wider your influence in New Bordeaux, the better your access to additional
items and upgrades to help you become the kingpin.
For now, 2K Games has only shared a handful
of screenshots over on its Mafia III: Rivals Google Play listing. Gameplay
videos remain non-existent, but don’t be too quick to judge the title if it
seems a tad too wordy for a gangster title.
Mafia III: Rivals is set to debut on Android
this October 7th. Pre-registration for the game is currently open on Google
Play. Signing up early will net you a bonus character and weapon at launch.
