ARCHOS Announces Diamond 2 Note and Plus Smartphones

ARCHOS has announced two new smartphones in the Diamond line, the Diamond 2 Note and the Diamond 2 Plus. Both these phones run Android 6.0 Mashmallow and will be available in May, 2016. Here's more info on these new smartphones from Archos:



The ARCHOS Diamond 2 Note features:

  • 6" IPS borderless screen combined with a 2K resolution
  • Optimized screen to body ratio : 6'' LCD in the form factor of a standard 5.5' smartphone
  • 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage for limitless content
  • 4G octo-core Helio X10 CPU from MediaTek
  • 3600 mAh for extend battery life
  • Fast charge for an 80% charge in just 45 minutes, a definite time gain,
  • Remote control and smart PA sound system
  • 16MP back camera with 4K Video recording and 8MP wide angle 84* BSI sensor F2.2 front camera for breathtaking images and videos
  • Stock Android 6.0 Marshmallow software: boosted with features such as Google Now on Tap, case-by-case app permissions, and Doze to monitor battery usage.



Available in May, the ARCHOS Diamond 2 Note's retail price will be $269.

The ARCHOS Diamond 2 Plus features:

  • 4GB RAM and 64GB Flash for extreme responsiveness and extensive storage
  • 4G octo-core LTE cat 6 Helio P10 processor from MediaTek for ultra-powerful performance
  • Full HD 5.5" IPS screen with curved edges (2.5D) for extra wide viewing angles and brilliant colors,

Updated Google Contacts app makes it easier to get rid of duplicates

Google is pushing out an updated version of its contacts management app, bringing some of the features available in the web version to the Android app. The v 1.5 update reorganizes the user interface of Google Contacts. Instead of the two tabs – all and favorites – the app now just displays your entire contact list, with a sidebar menu available via the hamburger button on the left. Opening that up reveals a new section for managing duplicate contacts. That’s a feature that was present on the web app of Contacts , but the process was more convoluted on the Android app. You can now also add labels to your contacts, making it easy to organize large contact lists based on groups, for things like family, work, or school. LG showcases new rollable 65” OLED display

LG Display used CES 2018 in Las Vegas to officially unveil its new OLED displays - one of them being a 65-inch 4K flexible screen that can be rolled like a newspaper. The other is an 88” 8K OLED panel that we told you about last week. The flexibility of the 65” OLED display makes it easier to transport or store in the corner. Its small size allows for better space utilization, meaning you can take the TV anytime, anywhere and “enjoy bright, high-resolution content”. LG Display will also showcase its latest upgrades of the IPS technology. The panels now have IPS nano-color, “which expresses rich colors using nanoscale high-color reproduction particles, and IPS technology, which increases the transmittance and reduces the intensity of light reflected on the panel.”, said the company in a press release.
